2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Account and Purchase Data
When you purchase a licence and register the software, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your billing address
This data is collected by our payment and licensing provider, Moonbase (see Section 5), and shared with us for licence management purposes.
2.2 Activation and Verification Data
When you activate the software and during periodic licence verification, the following technical data is transmitted to our servers:
- Your licence key
- A hardware identifier derived from your computer’s configuration
- The software version
- Your operating system version
This data is used solely to verify your licence and bind it to your device. The hardware identifier is a one-way derived value and cannot be used to identify your computer’s specific components.
2.3 Crash Reports
The software may collect and transmit anonymous crash reports containing:
- Stack traces (technical information about the state of the software at the time of the crash)
- System configuration (operating system, hardware summary)
Crash reports do not contain your name, email address, user content, audio data, or MIDI data.
2.4 What We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect usage analytics or behavioural data
- We do not access, collect, or transmit any MIDI files, audio recordings, session data, or other content you create or load in the software
- We do not track your location or IP address for analytics purposes
3. How We Use Your Data

4. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Account and purchase data is retained for as long as your licence is active and for up to 6 years afterwards to comply with UK tax and accounting obligations.
- Activation and verification data is retained for as long as your licence is active. If you deactivate your licence, this data is deleted within 90 days.
- Crash reports are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted.
5. Third Parties
5.1 Moonbase
Our licensing, payment processing, and software delivery is provided by Moonbase (moonbase.sh). Moonbase acts as our Merchant of Record and processes your payment and licence data on our behalf. Moonbase’s privacy policy is available at moonbase.sh/privacy.
5.2 No Other Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties, except:
- Where required by law or legal process
- To protect our rights or property
- With your explicit consent
6. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located outside the United Kingdom. Where data is transferred to countries that do not provide an equivalent level of data protection, appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Restriction — request that we limit how we process your data
- Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest

10. Children’s Privacy
The software is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the software. The “Last updated” date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
